Associate Pastor's Press

Praise the Lord! "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” I asked my grade school teacher this when I was a kid. She didn't know. But Jesus knows! He knows what we have to do to inherit eternal life! Stay tuned for next week bulletin and He'll let you know....kidding! I have to apologize...I would like to write every week in the bulletin, but things get out of hand. Do you know the feeling? When our lives get so hectic that we lose sight of the important things like faith, fellowship, family, and fun we have to ask the question, "What's really important? What must I do for eternal life?" This takes some time because we need to allow ourselves to slow down and ask God for direction. Eternal life is forever. Our earthly existence is a blink of an eye. To inherit eternal life, the Lord asks us to take the time to slow down and love others as He has called us to love. So next time we are in the middle of something we deem to be extremely important, take the time to pray, to ask God the bigger questions about life. Stop by the side of the road, help someone out, be bold about your Catholic faith. To live our Catholic faith means to live everyday for eternal life. Our lives are a preparation for eternal life. At the end of our lives in the funeral rite we say, "Let them rest in peace." So while we're here on earth, let's save the restin' for eternal life and love others by serving others and sharing the love of Jesus! Live life to the full by making a gift of yourself to others. In short, LOVE! Okay, I gotta go! God love ya! Thank you for being Catholic and lovin' the Lord! Now and forever!
