Associate Pastor's Press

Praise the Lord! It has been difficult to say so many goodbyes in these past couple of weeks, but a consoling thought is that we are always united in that supernatural reality of the Eucharist. These nine months have been an blessing for me and I am grateful for you gift of faith and the tremendous graciousness you have extended to me in these first months of priesthood!
There is a seminarian by the name of Ryan who is currently discerning priesthood and pursuing his studies at St. John Vianney Seminary in the Twin Cities. This summer he will be in De Pere living at "Xavier House", our new Catholic discernment house located in De Pere. He will be starting a fellowship with other young Catholic men to grow in holiness. This will include service ventures, bible studies, and just good fun. It is initiative like this found in young men who are open to God's will that we will have vocations in the future. Sts. Peter & Paul Parish has been generous in supporting young men discerning God's call. Consequently, I am writing to see if there could be support in prayer for this new men's apostolate in De Pere at Xavier House. It is crucial for the life and vitality of the Church! Second, Ryan is looking for part-time employment in Green Bay and/or De Pere this summer. College is expensive! If you have any suggestions or a job leads, please contact him at rjs_06@hotmail.com or you can contact me at 920-284-8278 email: fatherquinn@catholic.org Let's continue to support young men in their discernment!
This summer, Father Walter Stumpf, seminarian Drew Mulloy, and myself will be traveling to Ghana, Africa through Father Carr's Place 2B. We will be celebrating Sister Mary Assumpta's and Sister Celestine's final vows. These two sisters have been serving at Father Carr's Place 2B while taking classes at UW Oshkosh to earn degrees in accounting and education. Our mission trip is to support these sisters, foster a growing relationship with their order, The Handmaids of the Divine Redeemer, dedicate the new school we've built, and visit surrounding missions. We will be gone from August 8th to the 27th. Please remember us in your prayers. We believe this is the beginning of many trips to Africa to foster ties between the Church there and the Church here. We are looking for holy cards, Divine Mercy images, Sacred Heart images, miraculous medals, rosaries, scapulars, etc. to bring over with us!
Lastly, Catholic Youth Expeditions is going strong into it's 6th summer season! We have twelve college students serving full time as missionaries this summer at Father Carr's Place 2B and Chamber's Island. This apostolate is fostering healthy and holy vocations to priesthood, religious life, and married life! Please pray for us! We are in need of a shop vac, a small gas generator, tents, and gas cards. You can even sponsor a camper!
Thank you again for your gift of faith! Thank you in advance for parting gifts. Any monetary gifts will go directly toward our evangelization apostolate, CYE. All we have is God's! My prayer for Saint Peter & Paul and Cathedral Parish is that you continue to grow in your love for Christ and His Church. That as a Church we find new and innovative ways to spread the Gospel. May the Lord bless you and keep you...
Now and Forever!
